The Roots: Rising Down

The Roots Are 'Rising Down'

19th March 2008 | by Gavin Riley

The Roots are heading back to earth with a new album called 'Rising Down'. The LP is the tenth from the Philadelphia-based collective.

The album is described in a statement as the band's most political to date, dealing with issues like addiction, nihilism, hypocritical double standards in the prison system and overall life in Philadelphia.

Sounds fun. Yet, for some reason they've snapped up some guy called P.O.R.N, and also the annoying (but not Pete Wentz annoying) frontman of Fall Out Boy, Patrick Stump to guest vocal on the LP.

Also on the cover notes will be Common, Mos Def, Talib Kweli, DJ Jazzy Jeff and Styles P.

The LP will see the light of day on Def Jam Records on April 29th.
