Electronic-pop trio Kamp! formed in 2008 in Poland. They've put out a couple of EPs on their own Brennnessel label.

Their sound is often described as melodic synthpop influenced by 80’s new wave, 70’s krautrock and 90’s french house genres.

Radek from the band very kindly took time out to talk to Strange Glue about their SxSW plans:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1) How many times have you been to SxSW?

It's our first time.

2) What's the best thing about being in Austin? Or if you've not been before.... What are your tourism related plans?

Well, definitely music. We focus on our gigs first, so the overall plan is to play as good as we can. There's also a lot of bands we would like to see and listen to.

Tourism? We'll find it out when we come to Austin. By the way, our tour manager has promised to show us the best cuisines in the city, we can't wait!

3) Why are you playing SxSW? ('Cos we hear the money isn't too good)

For bands like us it's always worth playing at festivals such as SXSW, especially when you know it's one of the biggest and most important.

4) Who are you showcasing for, and where and when can we expect to see you?

We're gonna play two gigs, the first one at Malaia Club on Friday (Mar 18th) 12:00-12:40am, the second one at Filter Magazine's Culture Collide Saturday on Cedar Street Courtyard (Mar 19th) 12:30-1:00pm. Hope to see you there!

5) Which other bands/artists are you most looking forward to seeing over music week?

We're definitely looking forward to see Cass McCombs, Onra and Toro Y Moi, And some classics like Low, OMD or QOTSA.

6) Will you visit the Film or Interactive sections of SxSW this year? Or is time tight?

Time might be too tight to visit our most anticipated gigs, but let's hope the days will be a bit longer in Austin.

7) What does the rest of 2011 hold for you?

More touring experience and some new releases. A new single and finally our debut LP.
