If there's one artist you need to see at this SxSW week it's Teen Daze. Seriously we are THAT impressed.

Teen Daze is an electronic musician from Vancouver, BC. In July 2010, he released his debut record, "Four More Years". The record is a blending of summer sounds, washed out synths, and hazy, reverb drenched vocals. It's the perfect soundtrack for a hot and steamy Austin.

We caught up with the man to see how plans were going for this year's South By Southwest Festival.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1) How many times have you been to SxSW?

This is actually my very first time. I've had lots of friends go, and tell me about some of the ins and outs, but I'm pretty new to the whole experience.

2) What's the best thing about being in Austin? Or if you've not been before.... What are your tourism related plans?

I played a show in Austin in early December of last year, and it was amazing. The best thing is definitely the sheer amount of music that happens there, even when SXSW isn't happening. And obviously, the BBQ.

3) Why are you playing SxSW? ('Cos we hear the money isn't too good)

Honestly, besides the huge amount of networking that happens, I'm going because I have a lot of friends that will be there. Whether its other bands, or bloggers, or just people that I know that are making the trip down, I'm incredibly excited to spend four days with my friends.

4) Who are you showcasing for, and where and when can we expect to see you?

March 17: I'll be playing a day party, at 2:45 PM, with BirdDog Productions, at the Aquarium; that night I'll be playing a showcase at the Karma Lounge, at 9:15 PM; March 19: I'll be playing a showcase put on by my hometown bro's (Music Waste/OLIO Festival) at the SoHo Lounge, at 10:00 PM.  There are some more showcases that will be happening, but they're still being sorted out at the moment, and I don't want to let the cat out of the bag.

5) Which other bands/artists are you most looking forward to seeing over music week?

I need to see James Blake. Then after that, I really want to see Candy Claws, Braids, GOBBLE GOBBLE, Twin Shadow, Memoryhouse and about 30 more bands.

6) Will you visit the Film or Interactive sections of SxSW this year? Or is time tight?

I really want to see that new Jake Gyllenhaal movie [Source Code] that's debuting at the fest, but I don't think I'll have the time to!

7) What does the rest of 2011 hold for you?

I'm going to be releasing a new Teen Daze LP in the near future (hopefully by late summer), and a new LP from my side project, Two Bicycles. Hopefully tours will ensue for both those records. I'm also going to keep putting out free releases from my digital label, Cultus Vibes! Also, lots of Reese Puffs will be eaten.
