As if enough Thom Yorke news hasn't already been announced in 2009, it now seems that the man has gone and made a brand new band.

Joining him is good friend and Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich as well as Flea of the Red Hot Chilli Peppers, drummer Joey Waronker and Brazilian musician Mauro Refosco. No band name has been confirmed as of yet but a few Californian tour dates have.

The news came via Radiohead's Dead Air Space page HERE via a little post from Yorke himself. He said:

"Hi, in the past couple of weeks i've been getting a band together for fun to play the eraser stuff live and the new songs etc.. to see if it could work! Here's a photo.. its me, Joey Waronker, Mauro Refosco, Flea and Nigel Godrich.

At the beginning of october the 4th and 5th we are going to do a couple of shows at the Orpheum Theatre in Los Angeles. We don't really have a name and the set will not be very long cuz ..well ...we haven't got that much material yet! But come and check it out if you are in the area. We've also got locals Lucky Dragons playing. All the best."

The photo in question is the one just above and if you're interested in purchasing tickets (that's if they haven't already disappeared) then HERE is the place to go.

Sounds pretty cool right? It'll be fine just as long as they don't get all 'supergroupy' on us.
