A new festival is set to take place in Sheffield this year by the name of 'The Tramlines Festival' and though it's current line-up isn't exactly spectacular, the story behind the event is.
In a move to promote the City as much as the artists contained within it's metaphorical walls, the fest is basically a homage to Sheffield itself and features a host of bands from the area. The entire event was curated by the 'reverend' of Reverend And The Makers Jon McClure, Matt Helders of the Arctic Monkeys and someone called Toddla T.
New names to join the line-up are The XX, Slow Club and Maps whilst previous names to be confirmed include Rolo Tomassi, Johnny Foreigner, Errors, The Noisettes, Little Boots and The Chapman Family.
The two day event takes place across the weekend of July 24-26th in tons of independent Sheffield based venues including Frog And The Parrot, Green Room, Bungalow And The Bears, The Earl and Penelopes.
Tickets for the entire two days are completely free of charge and work on a first come, first serve basis. The official site can be seen HERE.
The full line-up for the festival so far can be seen just below.
