Boston's Letters to Cleo have put an eight-year hiatus behind them and decided to play a series of shows in November and December of this year.
The band, who formed in 1990 had moderate success with their debut album "Aurora Gory Alice" when it charted at number 123 in the Billboard 200 chart. Despite a tail-off on their subsequent three albums, the band have remained popular. They are also well known for their appearance in the film "10 Things I Hate About You" which starred Julia Stiles, Larisa Oleynik and the late Heath Ledger. They also contributed four songs to the soundtrack of the film.
Original members Kay Hanley (vocals), Greg McKenna and Michael Eisenstein (guitars) and Stacy Jones (drums) will be returning for the four shows in the Autumn/Winter. They will be joined by new bassist Joe Klompus. Guitarist Eisenstein explained the decision came about after an impromptu performance last year during a Boston benefit. He remarked on the event: "We were excited, the crowd was excited, and from that point on, it just seemed like we should try to find a time to do it for real."
