With one of their track titles a band recently asked "Why Do They Never Play Les Savy Fav On The Radio?" It is indeed a question which could benefit from careful consideration.

In scene one, we see workers in a factory, listening to their favourite radio station when on comes a song by the band. Without the ability to concentrate upon anything except the hip-shaking sounds now occupying their crania. The workers suddenly lose focus. Production grinds to a halt as the workers become trapped in their own machinery.

Scene two, a man is travelling to work, suddenly the track "Patty Lee" starts to air. So enraptured is the driver by the shimmering strands of music, which pirouette delicately around each other whilst never actually interacting, that he forgets completely how to drive a vehicle and ploughs into a ditch. He doesn't realise what has happened until the engine cuts and the radio turns off.

And that, ladies and gentlemen is the reason why. It's just not worth the risk. With each album Les Savy Fav have reinvented themselves flawlessly, never being tied in with trends and scenes. This time around is a mixture of laid back grooves and jump to your feet hits. Indeed, every style which the boys turn their attention to, they pull off wonderfully.

Lyrically they are also raising the bar, with tales which befitting the album title, will grow on you if you stay with them. From the conceptual writings of "Brace Yourself" through to the hilariously dirty "The Equestrian", they show their art at compiling multi-layered dense pieces which reward both the casual listener and the more discerning ear.

It's clear that this band were, are, and will be an enormous influence on all of their peers, now all we need is for Joe Public to give them the attention they deserve. Who needs cars and right arms anyway.
